Portugal on the road for Tokyo 2021

News-flash! The Portuguese Dressage team members who will be representing Portugal on 2021 Olympics is now official. The Portuguese Equestrian Federation (FEP) has just presented the list of the summoned riders who will have the honor to represent the colors of the nation in Tokyo, between July 23rd and August 8th.

Facing the current challenges imposed by Covid-19 and Equine Herpesvirus, FEP decided to select a team of five duos, two of each are reserve:

        ▪ João Torrão & Equador MVL

        ▪ Rodrigo Torres & Fogoso

        ▪ Maria Caetano & Fénix de Tineo

        ▪ Carlos Pinto & La Gesse de Sultão de Menezes (1st reserve)

        ▪ Vasco Mira Godinho & Garret (2nd reserve)

Highlight for the fact that all horses selected are Lusitanos, enhancing the significant evolution of the breed over the last two decades, which allows us nowadays to have such a competitive team side by side with horse breeds that were specifically developed for the dressage sport.

Lusitano World congratulates this incredible team of talented riders and incredible horses, whom will represent us at the highest stage of the Dressage world! We wish you the best of luck - we will be rooting for you all the way!
