Lusitano with Grand Prix Talent & Amateur-Friendly Temperament

Grand Prix talent at just 7 years old, with a temperament to match! Imagine a horse who is already exploring the full range of Grand Prix movements, yet remains so kind, forgiving and uncomplicated that every ride feels like a pleasure. This striking young Lusitano brings together classical elegance, natural athleticism and a remarkable willingness to work — a combination that is not always easy to find, particularly at such a young age. And while his talent is impressive, his temperament might be his greatest quality! Under saddle, he is exceptionally generous, cooperative and eager to please. Naturally responsive without being overly sensitive, he gives his rider confidence while remaining attentive to the aids. Whether working on the basics or exploring more demanding exercises, he approaches each session with the same positive attitude, making him a particularly enjoyable horse to train and develop.

At just seven, he is already giving us a glimpse of Grand Prix. Introduced to the full range of movements, he shows a natural aptitude for collection and a genuine willingness to take on more. His flying changes deserve a special mention: expressive, straight and ground-covering, yet remarkably easy to ride. There is something particularly rewarding about a young horse who approaches advanced work with such enthusiasm and makes the learning process feel so natural. Of course, talent at this age is only the beginning. His Grand Prix exercises are still being consolidated, and the next stage of his education will focus on developing greater strength, balance, precision and consistency. But the foundations are encouraging, and with the right training, there is plenty to look forward to as he continues to mature.

What we find particularly special about him is that his ability doesn't come at the expense of rideability! We see him as a wonderful match for an ambitious amateur who dreams of progressing towards Grand Prix, but who also values confidence, comfort and the simple pleasure of riding every day. He has the sensitivity and athletic ability to keep a more experienced rider engaged, alongside the forgiving nature that makes him such a rewarding partner.

A Grand Prix horse in the making, with a character that makes the journey just as exciting as the destination. He is still young, still learning and has an exciting future ahead of him. But perhaps the most appealing part is the opportunity to be involved in that journey — to develop his talent, build a partnership and enjoy every milestone along the way. Could you be the rider to take him there? If so, we would love to introduce you to him. Get in touch with our team at horses@lusitanoworld.com to learn more or arrange a test ride.
