Piro-Free Lusitano Stallion from Proven Olympic Bloodlines

A striking 7-year-old piro-free Lusitano stallion who immediately stands out for his presence, pedigree and athletic potential. Baroque in type and unmistakably Lusitano in his expression, he combines a powerful, well-proportioned build with modern, expressive movement — a particularly appealing combination for both sport and breeding.

His pedigree is undoubtedly one of the highlights of his profile, bringing together some of the most prestigious Alter Real bloodlines and two generations of Olympic performance horses. His sire, Fénix de Tineo, competed at the Tokyo Olympic Games under Portuguese Olympian Maria Caetano, establishing himself at the highest level of international dressage. Through him, this stallion is also a grandson of the legendary Rubi AR, who represented Portugal at the London Olympic Games and holds both Recommended and Merit status. The dam line further reinforces his Alter Real heritage, bringing the blood of Oharte and the renowned mare Lexa, herself a daughter of Xaquiro, a 5-star Recommended and Merit stallion. This is therefore a pedigree with a remarkable concentration of proven genetics — combining classical Lusitano type with bloodlines that have demonstrated their ability to perform at the very highest level of international sport.

His conformation reflects a solid and athletic horse, with a strong body, powerful limbs and good overall proportions, while remaining faithful to the classical characteristics of the Lusitano breed. Under saddle, he shows three good-quality gaits, with a correct walk, expressive trot and balanced canter, giving him a very interesting foundation for further development as a dressage horse. His dressage education started later than usual, and his training is therefore still catching up with his age.

Now in a consistent programme with a talented young female rider, he is developing well in his lateral work and has recently started working on the flying changes. Intelligent, human-oriented, cooperative and willing to work, he shows all the qualities to progress quickly with consistent and correct training. We see him as a particularly interesting prospect for an ambitious developer or knowledgeable owner working closely with a professional, who can continue bringing out his potential. He has the genetics, physical quality and mind to develop into a very exciting dressage horse, with considerable room for progression and added value. His current price reflects this stage of his development, making him a particularly interesting opportunity for a buyer looking for quality and potential rather than a finished horse.
