Orquidea CAP

Feminine in her expression yet athletic in her build, Orquidea CAP has a harmonious, unmistakably Lusitano type. She shows three correct gaits, with a particularly pleasant trot offering natural swing and elasticity. Her pedigree brings together important names in Lusitano breeding. Orquidea is a daughter of Franquelin MV, a son of the 4* Recommended stallion Quo Vadis, and out of Gigi OA, a daughter of the renowned Solar dos Pinhais. She is herself an approved Lusitano broodmare with 73.5 points, adding proven breeding credentials to an already valuable genetic background.

Under saddle, Orquidea still has considerable potential to be explored. Having started her ridden career later, she has relatively few miles for her age and is currently working around Medium level, performing the lateral work with ease and beginning to understand the flying changes. We believe that, within the right training programme, she has all the key ingredients to develop into a very capable dressage competition horse. With consistent and correct work, we see her consolidating the Medium-level exercises and progressing towards PSG Level, making her an exciting project for an ambitious amateur or professional rider. Her character is one of her greatest strengths. She is straightforward, willing and uncomplicated in the daily work, with a very pleasant attitude towards her rider. She is remarkably consistent in her temperament, with none of the typical “marish” behaviour, making her a particularly pleasant and dependable partner both under saddle and in the daily routine.

Orquidea CAP offers her future owner something particularly valuable: the possibility of combining sport and breeding within the same horse. Her approval and pedigree give her genuine value as a broodmare, while her ridden career is still at a stage where there is significant room for progression. For someone looking for a Lusitano mare with valuable genetics, an amateur-friendly temperament and genuine dressage potential, Orquidea CAP offers the best of both worlds: an exciting future in the competition arena alongside proven breeding credentials. Lusitano World is delighted to present Orquidea CAP as part of the exclusive selection of horses offered at the Rocas do Vouga Auction 2026.
